Biography

HADIZA DOCKERAY is a vocalist and songwriter from New York City. She was raised in St. Albans, Queens, and moved to France after attending San Diego State University. While working in Paris as a backing vocalist and dancer, Hadiza discovered a passion for music that led her to form her first band. They performed in cafés and clubs, interpreting jazz standards and covers of r&b classics. Soon after returning to New York, Hadiza began writing her own music. She quickly gained notice for her mellifluous voice, thought-provoking lyrics and high-energy performance style. Her band has performed at local venues including The Cutting Room, Metropolitan Room, The Bitter End, and Triad NYC.
